Frisco, TX: The Global Voice for Bangladesh Minorities event was held at Frisco City Hall on Saturday, 10th August 2024 and was a grand success.

The enthusiasm and support was overwhelming with about 400+ supporters attending the protest. We had groups from all the adjoining cities—Prosper, Allen, Irving, Flower Mound, and Lewisville—converge in huge numbers.

A significant group of over 50+ Hindus of Bangladesh arrived at the event an hour ahead of the event.

The event started with Sri Sashi Kejriwal ji giving background on the unfortunate events that unfolded in Bangladesh, the need for support and the demand for immediate stop to violence.

Representatives from each of the participating organizations had shared their thoughts and views on the violence in Bangladesh.

  • Dharmansh Foundation represented by Kumar Garaw
  • Shivaji Maharaj Antarrashtriya Parivaar (SMAP) represented by Vijay Gayee
  • RHYTHM CULTURAL ASSOCIATION, association with over 150 Bangladesh Hindu Families represented by Pradeep J
  • Representative from Human Rights Congress for Bangla Minorities
  • BJP USA charter represented by Ramakrishna G
  • Renowned social activist and entrepreneur from Frisco, Hemanth Kale
  • Ekta Mandir representatives

The talk from the representatives cheered the crowd and the slogans ‘SaveBangaladesh’, ‘SaveMinorities’, ‘StopViolence’, ‘We love peace’ were raised by the enthusiastic team.

We later invited women from various walks of life in general and the Bangladeshi community to specifically express their views on the current situation in Bangladesh and demanded immediate action. Media coverage was provided by Asianet and Prime9 news channels, several enthusiastic members gave short interview bytes to the media expressing their anguish at the current state of affairs.

We had the Krishna dasa team perform a beautiful ‘hara rama hare krishna’ rendition on harmonium and mrudangam. Several homemade placards were brought in to educate people on dire need of action from government agencies to stop the violence.

It was interesting to note that the group had several kids right from 5 years old to teenagers, cheering their parents and elders in the protest. The program concluded with the American National Anthem, followed by Indian National anthem and then the Bangla National Anthem.

We had the team perform candlelight vigil with over 200+ candles distributed, we could cater to only half of the crowd.

Frisco Patrol Lieutenant and patrol cops were there for the entire two hours to ensure peaceful protest. We thank the Frisco Police team for the support extended

Heartfelt congratulations to all the nation loving, culture loving, passionate and dedicated volunteers who turned up for the event.

Dharma Jagruthi Foundation team were glad to be part of this event and helped garner the support of the community. This indeed was a good platform to congregate and protest in the time of need.
